About us

Built by the community, for the community.

VRCommissions exists because VR creators deserve a marketplace that understands their craft, and pays them fairly for it.

Our story

We were tired of PayPal F&F roulette.

For years, hiring a VR creator meant scrolling through Twitter threads, sliding into DMs, sending money via PayPal Friends & Family, and hoping for the best. Buyers got ghosted. Sellers got chargebacks. Nobody won.

VRCommissions started as a side project to solve one problem: bring a real escrow flow to VR commissions, in a marketplace built specifically around the categories of work that VR creators actually do.

Today it's a full marketplace, with listings, profiles, milestones, reviews, and dispute resolution. The original mission hasn't changed: fewer scams, fairer fees, better tools.

A diverse community of creators

Who it's for

B

For buyers

Browse listings, find a creator whose portfolio matches your vision, and request a commission. Describe what you need, agree on price and turnaround, and pay through escrow. Funds are held until you approve the delivery.

S

For sellers

Create a profile, list your services, and let buyers come to you. Set your own prices, turnaround windows, and revision policies. Get paid reliably through escrow. No more chasing invoices or lost income to chargebacks.

M

Milestones

Large commissions can be broken into agreed checkpoints so both sides have a written-down picture of what each stage looks like. Milestones are a shared plan, not a payment trigger - the full price is held in escrow and released to the seller on final approval.

Trust & safety

Every order is backed by escrow.

Your funds are held in escrow the moment the order is placed. Money only releases to the seller when the buyer accepts delivery, or after a configurable inactivity window, automatically.

Every completed order can be reviewed by both parties. Public seller ratings and review histories let future buyers make informed decisions. When things go wrong, our dispute resolution process gives both sides a fair shot.

All files exchanged during a commission are retained by the platform, so there's always an authoritative record of what was delivered.

Trust and partnership
Fair fees

12% total. Less than half of Fiverr or Gumroad.

VRCommissions charges a 12% total service fee, split between buyer (5%) and seller (7%). Fiverr's combined fees routinely exceed 25%, and Gumroad, despite a 10% headline rate, has been observed billing buyers up to 26.9% all-in once payment processing, currency conversion, and per-transaction charges land. Our 7% seller fee is the entire seller-side cost.

No listing fees. No subscription tiers. No paywalled basic features. No promoted-seller auctions buried in your search results.

No payout minimum. Most platforms make you accumulate a balance (for example, $25 on Patreon or $100 on Ko-fi) before you can withdraw. Here, your USDC settles directly to your own wallet the instant a buyer approves the delivery. There is no internal balance to clear, no monthly batching, and nothing standing between you and your earnings.

The fee covers escrow, dispute resolution, hosting, and the platform itself. Nothing more.

Creator workspace
Why crypto?

Start with the constraint, not the technology.

Card networks, PayPal, and Stripe prohibit adult content in their terms of service. Some VR commission work is NSFW, and processors don't audit platform-by-platform - they apply the rule across the board. The practical result is that this entire category of work has spent years on PayPal Friends & Family, with no recourse for either side when things go wrong. That's the market failure we're addressing.

Crypto, for our purposes, is not a thesis. It's the only settlement layer that will actually clear a payment in this category without freezing the account a week later. We picked it the way a small business picks a freight carrier: by what gets the package delivered.

The reasonable next question is volatility. We address it directly: escrow is held in USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin. One USDC is one dollar, today and at delivery. Buyers who prefer Bitcoin can pay in Bitcoin; the conversion happens at a rate locked at checkout. Sellers receive funds into their own wallet, and the cash-out side is just as flexible - hold the USDC, swap it for Bitcoin, or move it to any exchange and withdraw to a bank. We don't hold customer money on our balance sheet, and we don't want to.

To be plain about what this site is and isn't: we operate a marketplace. We don't run trading, lending, yield, or any other financial product in the background. Payment comes in, work gets done, payment goes out. Escrow sits in the middle. That's the entire business.
